Kumawood actress Vivian Jill Lawrence has circulated a voice recording issuing a strong security alert to colleague movie stars of an ongoing mobile money fruad.
Vivian Jill who is also a victim recounted her odeal and how she got swindled.
In the voice recording, Vivian clearly explained everything saying she received a call from a man who goes by the name Mr.Solomon and poses as the owner of a company located at Spintex Accra.
This Mr. Solomon contacted Vivian Jill for a contract to shoot an advert, which she (Vivian ) agreed to meet the man in Kumasi so that they can thoroughly discuss the contract and sign the terms associated with it.
According to Vivian the man who was not in Kumasi decided to come to Kumasi to meet her. She then received a call from the man saying he had encountered a serious problem with the police on his way and that she (Vivian ) should help sort them out, since he only had his cheque book with him.
Mr. Solomon then asked Vivian to speak to the policeman who and requested her to send them GHc800 which she did. He later called and asked for GHc 1,000 which she did not send because she did not have that money on her.
Vivian then became suspicious and called Nana Ama Mcbrown who initially gave out her number to the self acclaimed businessman.
” I called Nana Ama and asked how well she knew man but she said she doesn’t know him personally but knows the company the man claims he owns.” Vivian stated.
“Nana Ama then called the man into our conversation and asked him if he has heard from me which he said yes and that he will call me when he gets to Kumasi which he hasn’t up till now “, she added in the voice recording.
It was later discovered that several actors and actresses including Maame Serwaa, Aunty Bee of “Efiewura “, and Salinko have also fallen victim to the schemes of these fraudsters.
Mobile money fraud has been on the rise recently and many have fallen victim to this ungodly acts.
