‘Shocked’ Chelsea Fan Dies Over Champions League Defeat

A 24 year-old man has died after collapsing during a the football match between Chelsea and FC Barcelona on Wednesday night.

Brother of the deceased, who disclosed this on Kumasi-based radio, Otec FM, said his brother, Emmanuel Offin of Asuoyeboah, suburb of Kumasi, collapsed and died during the Blues’ defeat to Barcelona.

Emmanuel Offin aka Nana Yaw, a mobile phone dealer, described by family members as “a staunch Chelsea supporter” died on the way to the house when he fainted just minutes after the final whistle in Wednesday’s Champions League 1\16 stage clash with FC Barcelona.

Chelsea went out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage as Barcelona forward Lionel Messi punished an error-ridden display in the Nou Camp.

The brother said the death of Nana Yaw has really come as a big blow to the family.

His body has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Morgue for autopsy.

He left behind a wife identified only as Linda.
